Microwave Backhaul for Rural Broadband
Microwave Backhaul Deployment for Rural Broadband.

Extending broadband connectivity into rural and hard-to-reach areas can present significant infrastructure and deployment challenges. Microwave backhaul provides an efficient way to connect remote network locations where extending fibre infrastructure may not be practical.

As part of a wider UK rural broadband expansion programme, RAFT Systems provided specialist microwave radio installation and deployment services across multiple infrastructure sites.

The project involved the installation and commissioning of microwave radio equipment and antenna systems to establish reliable wireless connectivity between network locations. Working across geographically dispersed sites, RAFT's engineers also supported the coordination and delivery of installations in a range of challenging environments.

The case study provides an insight into the requirements of a multi-site microwave backhaul deployment, including the engineering considerations involved in extending network connectivity into rural areas.
