In 2001 RAFT Systems supplied and installed microwave links for the port of Southampton linking remote sites and providing ring protection. Since that time we have provided maintenance support for the network.

In 2013 as part of a project to upgrade the Vessel Traffic System RAFT Systems were awarded a contract by Indra ES to replace the microwave links and provided additional links. Ceragon IP10G split mount links, providing a mix of Ethernet and E1, have been used around the ring to support existing legacy systems and new Ethernet connections. Ceragon IP10C all outdoor links are being used to provide Ethernet spur connections for CCTV and back up protection for wired Ethernet.

The project is being delivered in a number of phases, the first, to replace part of the existing ring has been completed. This involved ensuring that existing E1 legacy systems were maintained whilst, at the same time, being able to integrate new Ethernet based systems.

RAFT Systems are responsible for the system design, supply, installation and commissioning of all the network elements.
